so you met that special person
and you got engaged
and everyone was super excited
And you started making plans
You sent the invites
You practised your dance moves
and then 2020 hit
and everything got put on hold
but you told yourself you’d use lockdown to get planning, maybe do some diy from your Pinterest board
And then it slowly became clear that your plans weren’t going to happen
so you postponed to later in the year
Somehow the stars aligned and all your suppliers were available on your new date
sure, you could only book a 4pm ceremony on a Tuesday in December and guests keep pointing out that it might be a little dark, but it’s not getting you down… nope…
and the months at home rolled by
And you keep watching all the updates, reading all the graphs and studying the government guidelines
And you weren’t a fan of Boris before but you hate him with an even stronger firey passion now
and what even was eat out to help out?
did you put your wedding clothes on and sit around the house sometimes? Maybe.
And as the new wedding date got closer people had more questions
You tried to figure out how to cut down your guest list. how to let people know they weren’t invited anymore? A poem?
And you tried to become an expert in live-streaming technology
The whole thing was getting you down
It just wasn’t fun anymore
You didn’t really know how to tell everyone that you couldn’t even really think about the wedding anymore
And then you saw that there was going to be another big announcement
And…. well
*Sigh*
but all isn’t lost, I promise
Because the main thing is you’ve found your person
And you’re making it through the toughest time
Whether you hold out for a big party
or elope
if your guests watch via Livestream
or you wait to have them in the room
There’s still so much to celebrate
Because love is not cancelled
